About Arlandra:
I'm a level 80 Night Elf Rogue on Cenarion Circle, and I've been playing WoW for roughly 5½ years. I have been a vanity pet addict since my first week of playing (when I traveled all the way to Elwynn Forest and bought my Bombay Cat).
I recall the days of wasting about 40 bank/inventory slots just to feed my addiction, and almost had a nervous breakdown when the pre-WoLK patch rendered my rarest of pets missing! You see, when pets were changed from inventory items to the new "tabbed inhabitants" there was a server crash on the first day which left a lot of people without their pets and mounts -- Those items totally disappeared from people's bags and were nowhere to be found even after being added to the new tabs. It took me a full month to have them restored, and I am very thankful that it was even possible for Blizzard to return them to me!
I've farmed most of my rarest pets myself, and actually don't have any of the TCG pets. Aside from that fact, I still have a few rep-based and cross-faction pets that I would like to add to my collection before I would even consider ever buying TCG pets.
Nonetheless, my collection was a personal achievement long before it was an "official one", and I feel that with some effort *anyone* can achieve the 50 pet and the 75 pet milestones!
***Update 9/17/09*** My friend (and fellow pet collector) Jenaveeve on Cenarion Circle just gave me the Black Tabby, and I am just speechless! Thank you so much, my dear! I really can't thank you enough!
***Update 9/25/09*** Finally got my Grunty! A landmark 95th pet! Chalk up the Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderm as number 96! And believe it or not, Ravasaur Hatchling as number 97! All in the same day!
***Update 9/28/09*** Finally earned my first Argent Tourney pet, the Teldrassil Sproutling as my 98th pet!
***Update 9/30/09*** Zergetsu from Cenarion Circle just gave me an Ammen Vale Lashling for no other reason than being bored (and being nice!) Thanks, Zerg!
