Pet experience nerfed?

I just came back for 9.1.5 and was trying to level some level 23s in a WQ battle and I got 80exp… I didn’t even do the “attack one turn and swap” I used a pet that had magic damage against a flyer and beat it solo. Why is my exp gain such trash?

World Quest battles in BfA and Shadowlands are infinitely repeatable 24/7/365 so they can be reused for Family achievements at any time, so the devs took pretty much all pet and character XP away from them.
If you want XP, look to Legion, or Mists or Warlords.
