August 2008: Lordfarlander has done an amazing job of making a good mod even better! His new version of MiniPet adds a bunch of cool new features and utilities. Should you notice any bugs, please email Lordfarlander.

There are a number of events in WoW that trigger the loss of your summoned minipet, such as riding a taxi or hearthing. This addon reminds you to resummon a minipet, either by displaying a text warning and/or flashing the MiniPet button. When you click the MiniPet button, one of your companions will come out an play at random!

INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip the contents of the downloaded folder into your "…\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns" directory. Upon entering the game, you’ll discover a moveable flashing button. Clicking this button will summon a minipet companion at random. Additional options are listed below.

TIP: When a new patch arrives, this addon might be automatically disabled by WoW. If this happens, click the "AddOns" button on your character selection screen. Then check "Load out of date AddOns". This will reactivate your MiniPet addon. If the addon no longer works as it should, please email Lordfarlander.

• Alerts you to summon a minipet upon entering an instance.
• Alerts you to summon a minipet upon resurrecting.
• Alerts you to summon a minipet after using a taxi service.
• Alerts you to summon a minipet after teleporting or hearthing.
• NEW: Alerts you to summon a minipet after dismounting a flying mount.
• Drag, position, and lock the MiniPet button whereever it's most convenient for your UI.
• NEW: Enables you to set 'favorite' pets based on your preferences.
• NEW: Enables you to set 'favorite' pets based on your current zone.

Options:

Type /minipet [group] [command] (or /mp [group] [command]) to toggle an option. A complete list of options and what they do can be found in the READ ME file.

Known Issues:

Lordfarlander has done an incredible job eliminating many of the previous bugs. There are now only a few issues.

• Alerts do not work when entering non-instanced portals, such as the portal in the Stormwind mage tower.
• Alerts when resurrecting are not always triggered.

Translations:

Only the English translation is currently being maintained. This addon now works using spell and item IDs rather than names, thereby allowing the addon to work in any language. However, the commands may not be translated. French and German translations of the commands exist, but may not be current. If you wish to provide updates to the translation file for any language, please email Lordfarlander for instructions.
