Rumor has it that some beasts that were touched by the void exist in a space between this world and the next.
To supply previous comments:
After the infamous nerf of Howl, I can see concerns about the point of it while not followed by cooldown hits. Usually – it is redundant indeed. But in a case of beast, and LN (and Fel Pup) is one of them, you can use this ability just before the beast gains its racial bonus (that unlike most of buffs *does* stack as a multiplier) giving the boosted strike a 250% of effectiveness.
Of course it's all a bit fuzzy here because of RNG nature of Shadow Shock.
I couldn't agree more! The one-two punch of LNP and FP against Skrillex in Tanaan is explosive. Howl is a monster to deal with on these two.
Not unlike spiders and maggots, this beast does Undead damage, which becomes a double-threat against Humanoids. What sets L.N. and Fel Pup apart from them is Howl. An attack with Shadow Shock after Howl is applied and the Humanoid is basically toast. Against a Mechanical, the Darkflame looks good, but may not be as popular as F.P.'s Fel Immolate with its inc. dmg. debuff. I see F.P. getting the more gameplay of the two, with Crouch for damage mitigation, but not as much as Cinder Pup.
