This wild pet only spawns when it's snowing in the Storm Peaks.

During frigid nights in the Storm Peaks, these critters use their fluffy tails as a blanket to stay warm.
I find it Ironic that the snowdrift plains is covered with "Stormriders", yet it never snows here. What storm are they riding I ask you? WHAT STORM ARE THEY RIDING? THE STORM OF LIES?
For anyone trying to farm for this pet.
I recently opened a ticket asking why it was snowing in the Storm Peaks but there were no kits.
The reply was:
This pet can be tricky to get now with cross realms, and connected realms, because in order for him to actually show up it must be snowing on your home realm. Since this is a connected realm and a cross realm zone you can end up seeing snow for other realms, but since it isn't snowing on your home realm you won't see the Arctic Fox Kit.
After about a week of camping, I finally see snow! 8 am server time(11 my time), caught mine around K3. Snow is indeed zonewide, there are foxes spawning everywhere. I have not had an issue with quest phasing and this toon only completed a handful in Storm Peaks. Helped 2 guildies get to current crz area, we all managed to catch a rare on the 2nd try each. Snow lasted 1hr, foxes spawned throughout the entire duration.
Irony would be waiting for it to snow and having a certain proto-drake fly by.
For all the snow accumulated in the Storm Peaks, why the hell is it never snowing!!!
I'm starting to think global warming has affected Storm Peaks. Been checking every 15 minutes since I got up...no snow. :(
Flew into Storm Peaks at 11:50 at night to find it snowing (first time I have EVER seen it snow in years.
Flew around in circles for 25 mins until 12:15, when the snow stopped.
Not a sinlge fox to be found.
So either it no longer exists or it doesn't spawn EVERYTIME it snows.
Or it only spawns in the first few mins of it snowing.
ya know, for a place called "the storm peaks" there seem to be surprisingly few storms -_- i think we need a shamanic snow dance here, guys ...

Seems after the reset this pet is spawned all over the place regardless of snow or not, after batteling a fue thy dont seem to respawn so if u are missin this one, get em befor there gone.
The snow is not seen unless you are on the ground. I did a flyby, and saw the green paw for the Kit before I saw the snow. The Kits will respawn until the snow is finished. My last Kit that I ran after vanaished right as the snow stopped. I didn't get to it in time. My sugestion is to take an area and circle that area, don't try to fly all of Storm Peaks area - you waste too much time. They do spawn quite fast. Foud it at 6:29AM, snow stopped at 6:55AM.
Is there a schedule of when it snows in Storm Peaks? I have been camped out for days just farming stuff while I hunt for this Fox ... and it has never, ever snowed. Why is this place covered with snow but it never snows?Â
This place kinda sucks. I saw NOTHING at all. Not one critter, beast, etc. Got all the other pets in Northrend. One last ditch effort before I stopped bothering, it was FINALLY snowing. Fox kits all over, heavily farmed. I was able to secure 3 - 2 poor quality around K3 and 1 common quality around the Engine of the Makers (big hole in the ground).Â
update: 1 more poor quality @ snowdrift plains.Â

My favourite wolf. Comes in P/S breed with 289 power and 289 speed. Use Dazzling Dance and you will be faster than both 341 speed Death Adders and 358 speed Rabbits. This will make you really chew them up quickly since they often are not very durable. Crouch is such a powerful move, makes you very durable. Howl can of course be useful, but in PvP opponents are not as static as the PvE opponents. Very good pet, also not very common. Use them!

That said, two days later i got one :P You have different types of snow wich makes this hard. A full blizzard isn't that hard to miss, but a slight drizzle counts too. I didn't even noticed it was snowing, only because the spawns suddenly appeared.
Right-o, it doesn't need to be snowing. Found many of them wandering about in a few places after server reset yesterday. Whelpling so just decided to just fly by and "see if it was snowing". It wasn't but there were several kits in more than one of the spawn areas. They even seemed to be re-spawning! I only got common, but I know at least one person got an uncommon. We were spotting for each other in that.Â
Anyone else notice pet collectors seem far more courteous than folks like your average herb-and gankers? Lol
Just got mine south of Terrace of the Makers on a hill at 6:48am realm time. Was poor quality and appeared with a mountain skunk and a spider. No snow that I could see, though my graphics are low. Saw no other spawns.
