Patch 5.4.0 | Posted: September 10, 2013
Players can earn Celestial Coins by completing the account-wide weekly quest, The Celestial Tournament. Upon completing this quest for the first time, players will receive a one time quest that also rewards Celestial Coins.
Level 0: 0 0 0
Fierce and loyal, Xu-Fu loves to hunt by moonlight. Once during a full moon, he killed and ate an entire Ironfur Great Bull, prompting a two day nap.
A twist on a favorite combo of mine. Round 1 dazzling dance, round 2 bite, round 3 howl before death, it needs to be up for 2 rounds so use howl when your SURE hes going to die. Flip to jumping spider when fox dies. use brittle webbing, then swarm. then just attack and he will gain some life. when spider is dead, flip to Menagerie Custodian. First attack shock and awe, second ion cannon = GG . I linked my kill here: www.wowpetbattle.com/xufu.html
Elfuego
He is a very solid PVE Beast. His ability to boost his attack and regain health makes him very strong.
With that said, he is not as strong in PVP play, his moves are predictable and very difficult to use against top players. I have seen success with him, but it has been limited.
His power isn't enough to offset his speed, easily countered by a decent team.
it is indeed the cutest thing. And deadly can be. Underused in my opinion. I love the fact that it sits on your lap. One of my fav
This little thing is amazing. Currently leveling him, and even though he is only level 16 he can tear through a team of 25 pets with very little help from a boosting pet!
Awesome fighting pet, and as a bonus it is adorable too!
I was not sure which pet to get first after the completion of the Celestial Tournament. After some consideration decided on Xu-Fu because of his abilities and damage output.
It was the right choice !
Without getting into details, while levelling against 24-25 mobs, he at level 13 single handled lvl 25 Golden Cuvet and later at lvl 20 killed all 3 opponents who had lvl 24 and his health was at 1140 (100%) !
Was using Prowl (dmg increase by 150% for the next attack), followed by Feed (dmg+heal)...
Finally finished the tournament and boy is he worth it. The critter destroyer for sure and he looks really sweet. Chi Chi your next :)
Xu-Fu is basically the reason why moves like Dodge or Clobber exist.
He is one of my go-to PvP Pets, and if I see the enemy team doesn't have a single pet capable of stalling or controlling the battle to neutralize him, I will send out Xu-Fu and -- like a harbinger of death -- he WILL take out the very first pet he comes into contact with.
This little guy telegraphs his attacks and can be very easy to stop with the right pets, but he utterly devours the unprepared.
The pet you receive does not have the same moves available as the Celestial Tournament opponent, which has Moonfire and Feed. Whereas the pet has Moonfire or Feed.
This pet is op vs flying Prowl and Moonfire= one shot flying pet
After many grueling hours of leveling pets suitable for these epic celestial battles, I finally obtained this adorable pet thanks to the generous youtube videos posted by Elfuego. Without him, I would have never thought to use some of the pets that finally got the job done. Thank you SO much!
Recently gained this pet and it really helps turn around my losing streaks in PVP into wins. Feed is amazing, I have pets that perform Moonlight and this tiger shreds them. A must have pet!
I use Xu-Fu heavily in wild pet battles when I'm hunting for rare pets. He can easily wipe out a team solo. The Feed + Prowl combo is deadly against weak wild pets, as in often one shots them. I let him bat around the first pet which means he goes into the second fight with low health. Then I Feed/Prowl the second pet and unless they are uncommon or rare, they typically die in one hit. Xu-Fu is at full health again for the third pet. Can put a pet on the team for mechs but don't see those much.
i absolutely adore Xu-Fu can single handedly destroy Erris's critter team and any critter team.
Was the first out of my 4 pets from the celestial tournament, and came in handy there as well.
I just beat the Celestial Tournament for the first time today. Beating it the first time gives you 3 celestial coins. It costs 3 celestial coins to get one of 4 celestial pets. I chose Xu-Fu because he's so CUTE! I may not enter the celestial tournament again. I just wanted Xu-Fu.
I used Zagams celestial tournament guide: http://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/4180-zagams-celestial-tournament-guide/
Works like a charm. :)
My strategy:
Wild Jade Hatchling -> Call Lightning -> swap
-> Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchling -> Flock -> Flock (you wont see it, fight is over and you won).
Whatever Xu-Fu does (lucky crit or not), he is dead after this! You cannot fail with this setup.
He's cute, he's cuddly, he's powerful, but does anyone else wish Moonfire and Vengeance would switch place?
A good strategy on the end 4 named pets you have to battle is to have the pandaren water spirit and chromius. I cast Geyser then Whirlpool. Then flipped to Chromius and his Howl double damage. I took out 2 of the four with those 2 pets, they hardly had anything left and were stunned..one good nuke from Chromius surge of power and they were dead with hardly any damage done.
This is my favorite pet <3
I use Xu-Fu and 2 level 1 pets vs. Ashlei in Draenor pet battles. Moveset is Spirit Claws, Feed & Prowl.Pixiebell casts Moonfire, cast Spirit claw until Pixie is dead. Doodle comes in, cast prowl, feed, Xu-Fu gets full health. Tally comes in Spirit Claw until Tally dies. Doodle comes in. should still have a couple turns of moonfire still up. Claw Doodle down to about 300 health then level 1 pets get to work. With pet treat each level 1 made level 12 at the end of the fight.
I dont understand why this pet is better than Ban-Fu.
Ban-Fu's skill set is more adaptable than Xu-Fu.
