This pet is rewarded via the mail when your character completes the "Rock Lover" achievement. To complete this achievement, your character must complete the Therazane faction daily, Lost In The Deeps ten times. Upon completing this quest for the 10th time, you'll immediately receive this pet in your mailbox, sent by Dalaran's vendor, Breanni.

Half the humor of finally getting Pebble is the lost in the Twisting Nether message from the Postmaster that others have called a bug, or an offense. Think about it. You find him wandering around Deepholm the first time. Later, you're sent on a quest called Lost in the Deeps to rescue him (10 times). When you finally get your pet, the Postmaster found him in the Twisting Nether.

You first encounter Pebble when he follows you around while doing the quest "Putting the pieces together." He then offers a quest called "Clingy" and then eventually "So big, so round..." You also get to feed him on another quest, "Petrified delicacies."

I have created the in game community called Paper Beats Rock in hopes to help each other find and complete Lost In The Deeps for Rock Lover in order to get Pebble. My impression is that a few dailies in Deepholm is random so you may end up doing 3 or 4 weeks of checking dailies to get 10th pebble quest. Keep checking is all I can say.

To answer a few queeries...

The dailies in Deepholm do alternate. I'm pretty sure the Pebbles daily alternates with a daily given by the Goblin in the same cavern as Pebbles - which is the daily required for players to easily gain access to the location the rare spawn that drops the Tiny Shale Spider spawns. Have fun getting Pebbles :)

Just got this little buddy today. I started in mid-December while on Christmas holiday. For a solid month I never saw the quest, and server hop didn't help since no one does this content any more it seems. I was planning on submitting a ticket, but, and it may just be a coincidence, I finally started to get the quest regularly the day 7.1.5 update came out--multiple days in a row on 3 occasions. Still took four weeks total though, but it is possible to get. I will love him and call him Bambam.

I have read through all the comments and am wondering if anybody has any new insight into how to deal with the daily quest not appearing!  UGH

After sloughing my way through the 208 PRE-quests, who knew this would be so mindnumbling painful. 

I have my engineer HUNTER literally hanging in the air in her rocket W A I T I N G ...

So, anything, anybody? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I did the quest 10 times, and received the achievement, but what do I need to do to actually acquire this guy?  Where is he?      OK, a few hours later and he shows up in my mailbox "Lost in the twisting nether"...

Pebble is extremely effective in the Darkmoon pet battle. Set up with Quake and Rupture, rotate him in against the Tonk (elemental is strong versus mechanical), and Quake (hitting the Monkey with a strong backline attack. Rupture can stun the Tonk, too. Often, by the time the Tonk is down the Monkey is around 400 life!

Finally! After months of checking daily in Deepholm and having to stare at Therazane's uuuuuuugly mug, I have my prized Pebble. I have to say, I do believe he has the most HP of any pet I have.

I've only gotten this daily twice now since cata went live. Seems to alternate with at LEAST 2 other quests. Can confirm that "Pyrite Stonetender" is the npc that gives the daily which is near the throne of Therazine not in the crumbling wastes where you get the daily for the access to Jadefang.

Not got this yet as only got the daily once so far.But here's how to do it:to get past the massive gyreworm run after it.You want the 2nd exit right.Then take a right then a left to get to the ledge with Pebble on.The tricky part is getting back out,as if you aren't careful he will despawn while you're trying to pass the gyreworm.There's a small ledge on the way back out.Run over the middle of it where there's a sort of ramp.I paused at the top and again after jumping.Good luck!

I wonder if Blizz has made some changes to being able to realm hop for this quest in DF? I have an alt I recently did the quest chain on and parked there. This quest was up when I first completed the quest chain, and I've not had that daily back up since even with doing realm hopping.

I have found the addon Cross Realm Assist addon very useful in getting this quest everyday. It took me at least 18 jumps today but I eventually found a server that had the quest (Zangarmarsh, actually).  Just don't be dumb like me and not leave the raid group while trying to do the quest, and then have to do it again.

i have now gone 9 days without the quest showing up.  1 more "saving" and I would get Pebbles.  Is anyone else having issues, or has the pet been removed from game. Frustrating as the dickens.

What a chore Pebble is. FYI you can realm hop to pick up the quest and you can also share the quest with a friend. BUT !! It wont let you share the quest  every day and it wont be available for you to realm hop to get it either. Seems like every 2nd or 3rd day you can accept the quest. Even if you get invited to a realm that has the quest available it wont show up for you if you did it the previous day.
