Upon receiving Lil' Ragnaros in-game, players are sent the following message from Ragnaros himself: "Insect! You boldly seek the power of Ragnaros?! Now you shall see it firsthand! Well... at least a little of it. I may have summoned him too soon." - The Firelord
This companion can also be used as a fire for cooking items.
The best thing about Lil' Ragnaros is that he not only doubles as a cooking fire, but also as an egg timer. If the food is not done yet, he'll let you know: 'Too soon..'
Since he's played forever, he has everything in game. You name it? He's got it. His birthday was soon.
What to do? Had friend check and see if he had Rag...just requested a random "pet parade". None to be seen.
Over vent one night after he logged in. "OMG Nallaah! I love you so much, babe. He's perfect! Guys, I got a mini-Rag etc etc"
Did I mention he's 44?
You can cook on him!!!!!
Hehe
He's a bit of a mixed bag, IMO. The damage he deals can't be denied, however the hit failures due to the relatively low hit chance for Sulfuras Smash seem to always come at the worst possible time.
He reminds me a bit of a Prima donna. He will hit when he feels like it, and when he doesn't: "You didn't REALLY expect me to hit that time, did you?"
Did I mention he also serves as a cooking fire? Awesome!
He also vocalizes "Too soon!" when you summon him ala Molten Core.
This pet is absolutely great in the Darkmoon pet battle.
He can easily win the tonk and many times he smash also the monkey
( if you used before a dragon with Arcane Storm).
I find Magma Wave/Magma Trap to be a very useful move combination.
When Magma Wave is used while Magma Trap is up, not only will it remove the trap but it will detonate it causing wave damage+bomb damage+stun!
I don't know if it has been brought up but, I faced him in PvP once while i was using a Pandaren Water Spirit. Lil R used sons of flames. I had a whirpool on him, but it was timed during him being underground. So ofcourse I would lose I thought. But I also used Dive, during which I was undergound too when my WP would hit, and it did hit, just like 2 burrows, de faster burrower will hit the burrowed one. Whirpool and dive crit him to death :D
best thing to beat him is to get a shore crab or emperor crab ( Breed 6,16 ) with the high health and dmg one sit @ 1806 health with 296 atack power. surge, whirlpool, and healing wave. time your whirlpool for after sons surge off the get go just in case they bust it out first round. heal after 400 dmg and as much as possible after that. surge hits him non crit for 300-600 on a crit. whirlpool can hit up to 1200 on him standard of around 600
Appearance wise-Looks awesome and has this squeaky voice that is hilarious when hearing his 'world domination' dialogue while summoned or battling! He is also a lot bigger than I first imagined which is great to be able to see your summoned pet for once haha.
Battle wise-He is a fantastic big hitter if you need a pet to finish off an opponent, but is killed easily so not very useful in a strategy requiring his longevity. Great in strategies that only need a few hits from him, others not so much.
Burrlord's right so DON'T downvote! Even tho it's the most powerful pet in the game, it has NO defence/healing abilities at all and, with mediocre healthpool, it is really easy to take down. Its famous Magma Trap may be easily disarmed with Sniff Out, Tidal Wave or Clean-Up. If you are thinking about buying pet from Blizz shop and dunno which one to pick up, I would rather go for Blossoming Ancient, Pandaren Monk or Brightpaw instead...
This pet is overrated and can be be easily destroyed by any aquatic or rabbit and most mechanicals.
Magma Trap is one of the most frustrating abilities I face off against. Pretty much ever time it is cast it will imediately blow if I choose to attack the next round. The "chance" setting is set pretty high IMO. Not only that, Magma wave(while designed to clear items from the battlefield) will set off MT. While his speed is very slow(211), all of his hits are the highest in game due to his 374 Attack.
Sons of flame will continue if he dies while underground.
Ragnaros may not be the "strongest" pet but the ability to ignore all damage for 3 rounds while dealing a minor amount is epic.
Can't agree enough on how strong this pet is. He can easily wipe out a team of mechanical enemies by himself, and with his single target skills he's potentially devastating against almost anything, especially after level 15.
Good for a cooking fire on long trips.
Second Pet I got to 25 back when PB first came out, still a SOLID fighter in my almost 450 pets now! Cant beat his combo, esp when fighting a tough mechanical- The cooking bonus is great too, wish he acted as a blast furnice tho? LOL
