Hey there!

Good question about the Snowy Owl! This year, with patch 5.3, it & the Qiraji Guardling spawns changed so that they match up with real-life calendar days for Winter & Summer.

Thus, Snowy Owl has not begun spawning on any server, & will not until Winter officially begins in the real world, Northern Hemisphere (hint: December 21st for 2013). Then you'll know when to go out and catch that feathery little guy!

Not going to lie, the people who are already searching for rares and bragging in general chat about how many they are killing are driving me insane. Why can't we all just catch one for our achievement and then either upgrade with a stone or return in a few weeks/month to hunt for a rare? Seriously, it's the first day of spawning!

Just captured mine, poor quality. Captured it at 2.01 GT ,just below Timbermaw Hold. Finally I have Zookeeper title :3

It seems Blizz may have changed the seasons to match the RW. If this is the case, the owl may not spawn until Dec 21st, the actual start of winter. It would make sense, since the blossoning ancient changes for each season. I was excited to get my last Kalimdor pet this morning, too :(

They are up again. End this horrible year by completing this achivement!

On 2/4/16, 7:30 ET I spent less than 30 minutes collecting all three breeds.  Just flew the paths spamming this macro:

Now granted I didn't get a rare, but with battle stones as easy to get as they are that wasn't a big deal to me.  Best of luck!

December 20 and I have not yet located snowy owl...my last for safari too

First comment since March. Dropped by in the crazy hope there was some secret way to geta Snowy Owl before December 1st, but I guess not. Only pet left for my Kalimdor Safari. 

For those of you looking, don't give up. But yeah looks like the spawn for these has been uber nerfed. Lap of Winterspring hitting all spawn spots found only one uncommon. Was on Norgannon at 7am so the zone was fairly dead. I dropped battle and let a near by Dwarf named Itess catch it, got her achiv. I'm just trying to catch a rare of all wild pets, only have 3 preWoD to get. Snowy Owl, Minifernal, Wanderer's Festival Hatchling. Wish this was a achiv.

Has anyone seen this pet come as a secondary in a battle? 

...eagerly awaiting the 21st!  Just 10 more days!!  I want to complete my Kalimdor and WORLD safari's...and this is the ONLY pet I need...phreakin winter solstice!  I've been waiting for this since MAY!!

Someone just told me it's December 1st

Caught mine on US-Lightbringer at about 1am server. It was poor quality. Found another green one a few minutes later. Left the battle and let everyone in General know the location. It does not matter if it is green or poor, you will still need to stone, so show some love to your fellow hunters.

They are out there. It helps to kill all other battle pets in the area of a spawn point and then camp it. While they don't share spawn points per say, the area can only have so many battle pets spawned, so by killing th other other ones (hares and chimpmunks), the server has a chance to spawn an owl. Worked for me and others I told to try it on Sargeras at around 11am pacific today.....got an uncommon one and left. Figured I would let others get theirs then come back for a rare later.

Is this a primary only pet, or has someone confirmed it as a secondary pet also?

2:00 AM GMT (UK) - Arrived in Winterspring.. the seach begins!

Quit looking at 3am. I've done several laps since around 8:30 and still only found one!

Still it gives me 'World Safari' Ach and 'Zookeeper' Title... :)

Finally!

thru testing, tried using npc scan id 7554.This works, you have to disable any addon to do with pets. when i log on i check npc scan and snowy owl is not found.tried using flight path to see across crz and have yet to get a snowy owl to pop. evening using target macro as i was flying.At this point i would venture a guess that they are not spawning yet. I also have a ticket in with support. still waiting will edit when i get an answer.

Also had a toon doin pet daily there for 2 months and nothing

a friend of mine and I had an idea about catching this little guy, since "winter" is quite far off. So, I made a death knight on an Oceanic server, levelled him to 60, and have him parked out in Winterspring. I'm hoping that the seasons are reversed, since they are IRL, and maybe I can catch an owl later this week. I'll post again with my findings. :D

For the purpose of seasons, if you have the new Blossoming Ancient from the pet store, its summoned look changes dependant on the season (in game).

Note: You must actually summon it to get the current season to display. In the journal it always displays summer (all green foliage). 

So I'm checking it daily to see when summer rolls around. :)
