Read more about this pet in our Pet of the Month!
Level 0: 0 0 0
Indigenous to the peaks of Kun-Lai Summit, this rare yeti is much more dangerous than it looks.
I find this pet is incredibly useful to have on my team against the three critter pets for the legendary daily, especially the cricket. They do next to NO damage to him, while all his abilities in the beast family (Mangle, followed by Rampage, and Thrash until Rampage is off cooldown) wreck them so he can practically solo them, especially if used in conjunction with the Alpine Foxling's Dazzling Dance skill. :)
This is one of my favorite pets. I was lucky getting a rare p/p on my first try. He's also rather big. About as tall as my goblin. I feed him a biscuit when I start raiding. RAWR~
This is hands down my new favorite pet for the sheer fact that he is loud as HELL! And he looks awesome as well. Great job Blizzard!
This guy sure became the heavy hitter for my team... At level 25 rare, the combination of the Frost Shock, Deep Freeze and Takedown attacks, he can really inflict some damage. Not only that, but when facing master battle pet tamers, I can Frost Shock, slowing the pet, then Deep Freeze, stunning it. Then, I know the NPCs will switch pets, so I just Frost Shock again, slowing the next pet that comes down, basically trapping them in a loop, keeping my pet with the fastest stat. Absolutely love it!
One of the best batle pets in the game.
The secret for this pet is the time when you use Frost Shock and Deep Freeze. In many batles i can use 2/3 times Frost Shock before i risk use Deep Freeze. When well played it can get a kill using Takedown after, or forcing the opponent to change pet winning an extra attack.
One of my favourite movesets. Frost Shock, Deep Freeze, Takedown. Rinse, repeat.
This guy was frustrating me quite (spent about 30 minutes flying in circles) until I realized that all the new spawn pets were locked--there were too many battle pets. Right above the Winter's Blossom flight point is Kafi-a mountain goat gold battle pet and about 7-10 little summit kids. I killed them all and within 5 minutes had a surge of Runts show up.
This is my go-to Critter counter.
The Humanoid trait has Critters do 33% less damage to you, while you plow through them with Rampage, healing yourself a bit every round too.
The Humanoid healing and defence is what makes me prefer it over Beast pets.
P/P breed is best with 341 power, since P/S gives you less power and only 273 speed, which generally does not grant you a lot of first strike chances, but with 305 power it isn't too bad either.
I found mine near Kafi, the daily Beast pet.
WHERE IS THIS THING? Underground?? I have spent 4 days (about 30 minutes a day after Klaxxi rep grinding) flying ALL over Kun-Lai Summit and have found ZERO.
While allot of people take the Frost shock route... this pet is one of the few pets that actually has a 3 round huge hit that just keeps going and going.... Very strong and cool pet! I can't wait to see about this new Christmas Runt looking pet this year!
This has been one of my favorite pets to use when leveling others pets.
One of the strongest pets for sure. He will 1-2-Punch almost any dragonkin or elemental that the enemy trainer uses last. (Because then the trainer can't swap it out when it gets stunned.)
Superb against Yu'la in the tournament. Use P/P of him with an anubisath idol.
Frost shock
Deep freeze
Take down
Swap to idol
Deflect the lift off
Swap back to runt
Rinse and repeat!!!
Finish it with crush if needed.
I use two runts just in case. You can never have enough runts!
Question:
Perfect teams with Winter's Little Helper and Tiny Snowman
This is a no brainer for the most part.
Chill -- Still -- Kill
Though it does have some occasional problems on some of the beasts of fable and the Pandaran Elementals.
@covetius lol. A hard counter doing its job? No way!
And then, you know... for every other pet...? Kun-Lai runt is a monster. Requires no team support, stands tall on his own. Low speed offset by slowing with frost shock, follow up with stun, and then slammed in the face for double damage with takedown. Attacks are accurate and powerful. Human racial restores your health every turn during your '3-turn combo'. Often straight up KOs.
Found mine at Emperor Rikktik's Rest
Found the jackpot too. It was a rare with breed P/P :D
This pet is versatile with his use of high damage ability or stun, damage increase or chill. If you prefer to have a stun, Thrash/Frost Shock/Deep Freeze, in my opinion is the best set up. Takedown is high damage ability when the target is stunned, otherwise the damage is subpar to using Thrash against a chilled target. 1460 can be achieved in 4 turns with Takedown (if the freeze sticks), while Thrash can deal 1296 - 1944 damage.
This companion is so big that I rode right past him on the road to Shadow Pan Monastery thinking he was a mob, but the pet paw on my mini-map caught my eye.
Found one in between Peak of Serenity and Winters Blossom.
