Zookeeper is not the only achievement that has you waiting a year.  May I cite "What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been."  And I highly doubt they released the entire expansion a week after summer is over purely because of a window for a pet.

I am perfectly happy with the three month window of summer to capture this guy.  After all, Patience is a virtue and anything worth having is worth waiting for.

Those of you overseas who are seeing this, can you tell us if it is spawning continuously or only in rare times like the minfernal does?

So many breeds to chose from, be careful which you pick. S/S is a beast in PvP, Crush, Sandstorm, Kick and you are set. Very powerful. If you go with P/P breed both Crush and Reckless Strike will severly punish the opponent. One problem it does have is that it's attacks are below 100% hit, and this will be even lower if you use Sandstorm. So be prepared, and plan for, at least one or two misses. Also if up against an undead don't be afraid to Kick and then switch. One of the top pets.

Pretty sure we're looking at June 21, which is the traditional 'start' to summer, and the beginning of the fire festival. 

I don't really get why some of you are so incensed! I guess it's the whole 'generation of instant gratification' thing. If all the pets were buyable, or easy to get, people would complain about /that/.   Yeah, waiting is frustrating sometimes, but it's not like I don't think I'll still be playing WoW in two and a half weeks! Getting the rare pets is all the more satisfying, I think. 

Putting a character on an Oceanic server will not work, WoW has the same server seasons regardless of continent. Those that are looking for the Zookeeper title will simply h ave to wait until early next year.

It makes you earn it, you should appreciate that.

For those who didn't get it in PTR it basically spawns where ever you're getting the sidewinders and scarab hatchlings in AQ. It's not just at the Scarab Wall, it's also IN Ahn'qiraj (as in fly over the top don't go through the actual raid zones.) It spawned everywhere in that area, even in spots you can't get to unless you have a mount. Just FYI in case you hit a heart stopping moment of not finding it when it does spawn, explore the nooks and cranies.

If it's anything like the Summer Bass/Winter Squid, then "summer" starts in March around the Vernal Equinox and continues to the Autumnal Equinox in September. You can always catch one or the other of those fish; there's never a time when neither is available.

Just spoke to a GM - it is not currently 'summer' it is 'spring'.

I spoke at lengths on how the mechanics of the 'winter' pet, snowy owl, shared the same season as the wintersquid - but apparently the Guardling is not the opposite pet to the snowy owl, despite being the only 'summer' pet.

GM hinted at June - but as always, wouldn't give a straight answer - so who knows.

Welp. It's March 20th PDT and I feel cheated. Probably has a random spawning pattern or something. I've been patient long enough! Where's my Guardling!?

Edit: putting on my "the Patient" title and sucking it up. After reading several nasty arguments on the wow forums I've decided we probably all deserve to wait another 2-3 months.

If Summer Bass is anything to go from, we'll be able to catch this from the 20th of March.

It's also a good substitute/alternative to Anubisath Idol until you manage to get it dropping. Without Deflection, a good Blackout Kick timing is the only alternative against high-damage opponents, while Reckless Strike (along with Sandstorm) makes this pet amazing against water pets, and together with Whirlwind it can easily take down 3 opponents while mitigating damage from a weak rival.

People are being @$$hats on my realm, that is, those lovely realms that CRZ with us.    All of them seem to be alliance as well.  I'm seeing people with the title and the pet, gloating around while trying to capture and in some cases, kill the spawns so others can't.  Why they feel the need to spend hours after they capture it to ruin the rest of our chances is beyond my comprehension.

Just got mine! Wife camped it for 7hr for me, true gamer wife~!!! The pet spawned directy beside the gong. So happy to be out of that area AND out of the ridiculous antics of the other "less mature" players. The best way to get one with the least amount of drama, roll a DK on a Brazillian server (Gallywix in my case) like a few posts before mine suggest. I took their advice and am now a happy Qiraji owner, and a lucky Husband to boot~!! :D Qiraji Guardling

After being ganked the first two times, I got this little girl before. Watching another ally tame theirs i saw mine just over the way. Horde watched me tame and cheered there are some nice people out there :3

Btw - check your Blossoming Ancients to see if the guardlings are spawning - if there's no flowers - the guardlings will be spawning.  The Ancient is solid green - and has a sunbeam animation.  Had him out when I was camping on an oceanic.  Found this out checking alts on different servers.

just bagged mine 830 pm echo isles. got a greenie on the stairs leading up to AQ40 entrance. Yaye!!!

I was on my monk, Dulcet on Garona, and had been camping the darned thing since it launched..literally...having abyssmal luck. FINALLY today at 2:25p est i got one...it was a poor but heck, i can use a stone. I would ESPECIALLY like to thank two druids: Furreal and Karmacaster, who helped me look for it and made sure no one came in and AE'd while i was capturing this guy.  Two really great ppl amongst a bunch of jerks...gives me a warm feeling. :)

They are back! Started spawning at midnight on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.
