Patch 5.0.1 | Posted: September 25, 2012
Can be found inside the cave near Skulk Rock where larger oozes also spawn.
Jade Oozelings glow in the dark, making them a welcome sight to workers in pitch-black mineshafts.
Kill all "Maggot" critters & Battle pets around Skulk rock in the Hinterlands to make the Jade Oozelings spawn. ENTRANCE to cave where most of the oozes can spawn is at (57.39, 38.73). I have both Pure Breeds (H/H & P/P). Took forever.
If you get a GOOD BREED, then KEEP it!!! Even if it is the quality of the pet is POOR u can use a Battle-Stone to updrage it to RARE (http://www.wowhead.com/guide=1782/battle-stones-and-you#battle-stones)
What is your Favorite Breed?
I'm running H/H breed right now and liking it. Â Stacking both Creeping Ooze and Acidic Goo has been working great. Â I go back and forth between Creeping Ooze and Corrosion for its second ability since more coverage is always nice. Â Does anyone know for sure if H/H or P/P breed is superior for this pet though? Â I like my H/H one, but since magic has a nice defensive passive ability to help absorb big hits I was thinking the P/P breed might be better.
Battle pet - undead annihilation. This is my go-to pet to gobble up and digest almost anything. Acidic Goo (damage each round +25% damage), followed by Corrosion (increasing damage from each hit) then Absorb (hit plus 100% of hit is a heal) for a couple of rounds really slaps down the health of almost any opponent, and keeps Mr. Ooze bubbling along.
Don't these pets remind you of the fantasy games long ago? They definately make me nostalgic... and they remind me that they were never the hard monsters to attack. So it is only fitting that Blizzard would make them middle of the road pets.
My suggestion is if you are on a populated server that you use the LFG tool for garrison dailies/traders and just keep getting invites until you get a server that is full of these pets. I had like 20 pets to battle on a somewhat empty server and managed to get a rare H/H come up twice and common P/P before they were all gone. Took 10mins.
I can't believe it! Second one found (second trip) was a rare! First time, it was the only pet in the area - all maggots were level 1s. I took the common and thought I was okay with it, but went back the next day. Three maggot pets on top and one oozeling inside, down by the water. I almost squealed when it turned out to be rare. Whispering, "don't kill it," under my breath, I managed to get it low enough to trap without killing it (you only have to do that once to make you freak out).Â
Update: breed is B/B.
Killed everything inside and outside the cave for about 10ish minutes. No oozlings spawned. So I left my toon there, did a scenario on another toon and came back to 4-5 jade oozling inside the cave. I caught mine just at the entrance.
I've 'farmed' here before, but all it included was running in and looking for already spawned Oozlings. Â Try clearing the caves...not of the mobs, but of the critters! Â After killing every maggot I came across (inside and on top of the cave), I spawned over 12 of these Oozlings in a about 10 minutes and was able to find my rare.
Of all the 5 oozes the Jade Oozeling is the only one which can have breed 4; the only breed with all points in Power. I would suggest that you invest time in obtaining one of these with this particular Breed ID. If you have the time, try and grind for a Rare one, otherwise subject yourself to a lesser quality one and upgrade it. It'll be worth it for the lovely diversity :)
Clearing everything alive (maggots+oozes) IN the cave does seem to at least encourage spawns, if not guarentee them. Over the course of about 90 minutes of clearing, I saw about 8-10 Jade Oozlings spawn, usually 1 or 2 at a time. Keep running laps around the cave and clear whatever is up - be patient. Also, as a side note, check outside the front door as you run by, sometimes they will spawn just outside the entrance but will not show up on the mini-map when you're actually inside the cave.
Since not all oozes can get breed 4 this guy would definitely be worth a battle stone, if you can get your hands on that breed.
156 Maggot kills and 3 Oozeling spawns, best quality uncommon. Before and after midnight @ EU server time. If I'm not using a flawless at some time to convert it to rare I might come back and look for anotherÂ
Do get this pet to spawn you have to kill the maggots that are in the cave and spawned in about 20-30mins! and mine is a poor quaultyi and but I'm glad to have it.
I also had more success grabbing them in the morning. Didn't have to kill anything.Â
If you're after this for its skills, it is functionally identical to the Oily Slimeling in Borean Tundra - which comes pre-leveled to 19 (after cap penalty) and spawns abundantly.Â
Trying to get them to spawn is a pain in the tuchas. I did finally get 2 to come up, one down by the pool in the cave, the other in the alcove up top. It was after 7 in the evening tonight. Sadly they were both poor quality. I still captured one, better than having none, and will hope to find one of better quality some other night.
Update: It would seem that if you kill off the Huge ooze by the name of The Direglob after cleaning the cave, the little ones spawn!
I was able to farm this glowing guy inside Skulk rock around 9:30am server time. Â by 10am the spawn rate had all but stopped. I am thinking this is an early morning only spawn. The best quallity I ran across was 'uncommon' 112 power and 106 speed.
Got one of these without even knowing that they were not always avaliable. i was just passing trough to get to Stratholme pet dungeon (1st time) and passed over the cave and noticed that i didnt have it. Since it was full of them along with some larger versions of it i just assumed that they were always there. Got the P/P one in uncommon quality, probably should have stayed to get the other two breeds...
Seems to be hit or miss. I've checked several times before and not seen a one. Yesterday post server reset the cave (cave entrance is below ruins on hill facing water) was full of them. Managed to get rare P/P. Saw one right outside entrance to cave, but cave is where they apparently spawn.
This spawned exactly midnight server time for me. Â Don't know if that is coincidence or not. Â Good hunting.
Found what I think is a H/H breed not listed here. Lvl 11 Uncommon with 793 H, 106 P, 99 S.
So I hopped on right after reset to a full cave. Checked a few and boom... rare. Try to capture and can't. Reset rolled me back and restored the 3rd common I released. I forfit and the rare respawns as a common. Then to add insult to injury... I clear the cave.. respawns start and someone rolls in and snags a rare from under me. No respawns after that and 3 more ppl showed up. Merry Xmas :/
