Cute enough to eat, but not recommended.
This pet was inspired by this comic:

When the author found out, she made a follow-up:

A friend of mine just made this little guy while cooking, and sent it to me. After leveling him a little on some Pet Trainers, I was running through Warspear and tried to feed him a treat to make him nice and big and got this cute little message: Food cannot eat food.

Last night I asked someone in my fishing group how they got their Lil' Leftovers and they told me to get the cooking recipes from 6.1. She got hers on her 475th combine, so I did the same and got mine on my 80th! Go buy the cooking recipes from the chefs in your garrison, Arsenio Zerep (A) or Kraank (H) for 10g each. Both of us got our Leftovers from making Salty Squid Roll. These foods are easier to make than the feasts and delicacies and give 125 food buffs which are much more useful.
I have seen reports of players getting the pet to drop from recipes other than the feasts, but all the reports have been from 'green at 700' recipes;
Blackrock Barbecue
Calamari Crepes
Frosty Stew
Gorgrond Chowder
Sleeper Surprise
Talador Surf and Turf
Edit: Just got 'lil leftovers out of a Gorgrond Chowder (which I was making as the clefthoof meat is cheap and I was fishing for Skulker Lunkers).
comfirmed just made this lil guy, yeah drop rate is crazy. i counted and im not joking i maxed cooking on 5 toons from 600-700 and then counted after that on 5 toons just over 5k feast of the waters.... yeah 5k spent 9k on fish to fastforward cooking them and made it back.then rinsed and repeated. fyi buying enormous fish >reg seems give more meat so since was not much more expensive thats what i did. So glad this is one more pet i can mark off early on. i wish everyone better luck then this .
This doesn't drop from *any* Draenor recipe. The simplest recipes don't have a chance to drop. Here are the ones that you should be making:
Blackrock Barbecue
Buttered Sturgeon
Calamari Crepes
Frosty Stew
Feast of Blood
Feast of the Waters
Gorgrond Chowder
Jumbo Sea Dog
Pickled Eel
Salty Squid Roll
Sleeper Surprise
Sleeper Sushi
Talador Surf and Turf
Whiptail Fillet
Lil Leftovers and Pierre share many abilities and a core purpose... to control/restrict the actions of the other team. While they arn't damage based pets they each have their use based on their class ability. Leftovers can't be oneshot and if you stack Foodcoma, Stench, and Chew you can do damage from the back row and avoid allot of damage.
Sis was making her usual Sleeper Sushi (125 Mastery) for the nth time and Lil' Leftovers finally came for the mage food. :p
Took about 6 months of serious fishing (she fished 62k fish so far) and cooking to obtain. Not an easy pet to obtain to even sell. :/
Anyone hungry for leftover Whiptail Fillet cause I got leftovers of it! That's what I was cooking when I finally got my Lil' Leftovers! It's nice that there is good use for the Cresent Saberfish. Before 6.1 that was pretty much garbage fish since it was not good for any recipe with extra bonus. But when I got the new recipes I cooked up a storm with amy stash of Saberfish and got it after cooking about 150 fish. Overall I think I probably cooked about 500-750 WoD recipes until I got the drop. Off to Ashlei!
I made one long ago with all the Talador Surf and Turf I needed for my Rogue. Recently I've decided to farm some rep for the pets but I kept getting bored and would stop to farming skins. It left me with tons of fish (Nat Pagle) and meat. This stuff is worth Bubkis on the AH now so I tried making another Lil' Leftovers. Let me just say it takes stacks and stacks of reagents to make just one! Of course it droped with the hardest dish Calamari Crepes. It's just not worth the time to sell.
Mine came from the Pickled Eel, after making around 100 of them.
Getting up nice little dishes for food buffs before going raiding, so I was making Buttered Sturgeon for myself and the hubby. Only had enough to make 19 servings of the dish and got this little glob on cook number 16. :) Hubby about had a fit while I was laughing myself out of my desk chair. The 125 buff foods do seem to have a better chance of creating this pet, and they're better buffs for the raids. Win/win situation. Happy cooking!
Up to over 3,000 food items crafted. No signs of the pet yet.
Redzeke, yes you can create more than one. I got my first yesterday. Was using up some tentacles and got a second one this morning while making salty squid rolls. Occured on 50/95 squid roll creations.
635 "bakes" of 125 stat food and zilch! Most my catchs from getting my 100 lunkers. Guess I'll just be buying the lil tabel scrap.
Decided to give this another shot today, using up fish sitting in my bank to make some of the 125 stat foods and got Lil' Leftovers relatively quickly!
Got mine today making the chowder. Took about 30 combines only.
This pet seems to have a lot higher drop rate since 6.1, can anyone confirm?
After leveling up my cooking to 700, getting the Draenor Angler Achieve, and making about 20 stacks of feasts, I made 20 stacks of 20 each of the "delicious" recipes. It dropped on my last Sleeper Surprise. It's much cheaper than trying to make oodles of expensive feasts, and all the comments I've read so far back up the theory that he drops just as often off the green delicious recipes.
does anyone know if you can get more than on per toon?
