This little slime will eat critters of any size but not other mini pets (that I have found anyway) and will grow in size for the first three critters it eats. It will continue to eat critters after that, but will not get any bigger than about gnome size.

Anyone else notice that this drops off of Hummel and grows big? Think it may have been a step in the development of Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits?

Pull this pet out if your guild is working on the Critter Kill Squad. As of 12/12/2010, critters eaten by the wasteling count for the guild achievement.

Slimes have nice DoT moves, and can really hurt birds. But Toxic Wasteling has probably one of the worst breeds of all the slimes. Go with Jade Oozeling for 325 power instead, or Jade Oozeling/Oily Slimeling for a speedier breed.

Corrosion and Acidic Goo really adds up. Creeping Ooze is the most powerful dot outside of Haunt. Both Ooze Touch and especially Expunge really makes fliers dread slime pets.

Warning: Toxic Wasteling can be hazardous around small pets.

Giving to children under the age of 3 can cause ingestion of child.

Loss of fingers, hands, and other extremities have been recorded while feeding Toxic Wasteling. (Should you still have your hands after feeding Toxic Wasteling, always wash hands after handling of Toxic Wasteling.)

Studies shown that accidental or purposely swallowing Toxic Wasteling can and will cause painful death as a side effect in 100% in people tested.

Seems to reach full size after eating about three critters. Takes a bit of time for him to lock onto a target, but he certainly doesn't waste any time getting to his victim. The little guy seems awfully fast for a puddle of quasi intelligent Cologne. Another interesting thing to note is that the critters will despawn when consumed instead of leaving a corpse.

Want to see something REALLY fun? Take it to the crazy cat lady's house in Elwynn forest. It's like Alf, but causes cancer.

Update: The quest "You've Been Served" is no longer in the game, and Apothecary Hummel no longer directly drops this pet. Instead, you can run the Crown Chemical Company dungeon once a day (during Love is in the Air) to get a Heart Shaped Box; this pet has a chance to be in that box.

Just a warning

it eats blood worms
Im not sure if its only if the bloodworms belong to you, or if anyone in your group has it out, it will eat your bloodworms, but I cant use it when I tank on my DK cause the damn thing will eat my worms almost as fast as they spawn

Edit: I tested it, and it eats any and all bloodworms
yours, groupmember, raid memeber, people that are not in your group, th only thing I havent tested is to ee if it will eat the worms of people hostile to you

Fun with guildies: Summon your toxic wasteling, allow it to eat it's fill on critters, toss a Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuit, and watch all your gnome friends flee in terror from the blob that is big enough to eat them.

The note is wrong. "You've been served" is no longer in the game, and the wasteling drops randomly from the heart shaped box. This acording to a GM i talked to today =) Wish I knew a bit sooner... Have been looking high and low for the quests!

I also got this pet today on a non-collector toon. I've seen it drop quite a bit between today and yesterday, so its drop-rate may have been raised. Since it comes in a bag from your first kill of the boss each day, you can no longer offer gold to whoever wins the roll for it. Also, you must be either 84 or 85 and have done the pre-quests to get the boss dungeon queues now. You get one shot at the pet each day per toon, though you can farm the necklaces the boss drops all day if you want.

My favorite pet I have. Kinda view it as my good luck booger, always summoning it whenever I do any dungeon run. Seeing it eat random critters is always worth a giggle. I've seen it eat turkeys, squirrels, mice, rats, penguins, even a cow once.

Also, something new as of Cataclysm. To get the Armadillo Pup pet from the Guild Achievement Critter Kill Squad, you need to have your guild kill 50,000 critters. Any critter that the Toxic Wastling eats counts towards this total. S

By far my favorite Slime when it comes to appearances, i called mine Deploris.

It eats non-battle critters almost non-stop and grows in size up to 3 times, it will continue eating critters after that, but it doesnt grow bigger after 3 times.

But it gets quite big, almost the size of a Hunter pet, which i think is hilarious.

If only Hunters were able to tame aberrations.

As a battle pet its nothing special, there are better breeds out there with the same ability set.

The best thing about this pet is that it occasionally devours critters when they get too close. Other than that; meh.

This, um, 'adorable' little guy likes to play with critters. Just don't let them get too close.
