If you're farming these for a rare catch, kill every bear except the ones with cubs following them! These 'momma' bears will RESPAWN a cub every 2-5 mins!  Bears with no cubs wont spawn any cubs, so kill them off. Momma bears will ALWAYS spawn with a cub.

With this you can easily have every bear in the area be a momma and have a endless supply of cubs to battle like I just had.

Note: Diemetradon Hatchling Also follow this methood of 'mommas' that respawn the 'babys'.

This is probably the only pet I've ever been asked to desummon because it creeped someone out.

I think this bear is the saddest thing I've ever seen.

Best Breed: H/P

• Reasoning: Although it doesn't have the greatest amount of P, it's primary attacks are designated for P. So, having an H/H is wasting about 29 P that adds up and is especially useful after entering its dead phase.

• Pairing with other pets:

Apply a bleeding effect: Woodchipper / Rip / Huge, Sharp Teeth! / Chop

Do bonus dmg to bleeding opponents: Maul / Blood in the Water

Increase DoT: eg. Wild Magic / Howl ... among many others

Undead, huge healthpool and hibernate, this pet can take a pounding. It does not really deliver the damage though, unless hitting humans, since you only have 289 power max. If only roar had been in second slot. Good fit in a Bleed team. Bash ability seems like a waste with about 220 speed, but does have it's uses when wanting a attack-free switch, the cub takes the hit during Bash turn instead. Maul is just superior to Corpse Explosion.

Definitely helped to kill the infested bears to get the cubs to spawn. I didn't see a single cub until I killed about a dozen of the bears.

I wanted to share that the saving the "mummy" bears worked for me too - thanks for the idea. For those doing so please note that "mummy bears" do not look different nor do they have a seperate name. These are simply Infested Bears that have a Infested Bear Cub spawn with them.

One of the many pets to add for a bear threesome with robo-bear and darkshore cub. Another favorite of mine is the Chrominius, core hound pup, stitched pup combo,  and the fossil hatchling, cogblade, darting hatchling.

Killing the all the bears but the momma bears works great. Just make a circle and kill anything that doesn't have a cub. If you're like me, you can forget which bears are mommas before they spawn a second cub. So to keep from killing them on the next pass I would put a raid marker up. In about 10 minutes I had four mommas up and got my rare in minutes after that.

You must kill the adult infested bears found at the below locations

http://www.wowhead.com/npc=61758

after you clear the bears out the cubs will start to spawn. Keep killing bears as you come across them so that the cubs continue to spawn. Its a bit more of a pain to farm for these guys, but they make a nice addition to a zombie team.

If there aren't any, kill the adult bears. The more adult bears you kill, the faster they seem to spawn.

i subscribe to the momma bear theory, verified it, it works: bears that spawned cubs, left alive continued to spawn cubs.

Momma Bears is a great strategy thanks for that.

By killing only the Pappa bears I soon had a all my raid markers used up marking the Momma bears.

After that it was simply a matter of rotating round the bear cub spawns till my rare popped up. Got him after around 30 minutes farming.

great advice on the mamma bear theory, mark them or rememeber which ones spawned the bear, if its not a rare you can exit out the match and kill the pet wait for a respawn. approx 5 mins  .if your wondering the momma bear is not marked diffrently to the rest it just spawns the bear.   you can also get the Snowshoe Hare as a secondary to these to was lucky enough to get a rare..

there approx 5 -6 momma bears who spawn the bear 3 of the being up top of the hill near the cliff edge

This method worked perfectly! When i first arrived to the spot there wasnt a single momma bear around. I killed all the ones i could find and slowly started getting a few mommas marked with the raid targets. I had 5 moms with only 2 respawns on 3 different bears before I got my rare. Excellent advice! Thanks :)

I just spent 2 hours farming this bear with the mentioned "keep the mama bears alive" strat. It worked, and I finally got my rare.

But now that I have it I can't use it because it makes me itchy and sad at the same time.

The older looking model combined with the white mushrooms on it's back make this beast quite ugly. I find it endearing.

The strat of leaving the 'mommy' bears alive and marking them with raid markers is still the best way, but with the constant shifting of players to new shards, it's becoming very common to find yourself starting over because all your markers disappear and the 'mommy' bears are no longer the mommies.

I have found the easiest way to mark the "Mommy" bears is to single target and kill the creeper eggs on the back of the bears. You can kill all but the last egg but the egg will despawn itself. That way you know which has the cubs spawn next to them. It doesnt last long but will last a circle or 2.

Infested cubs still listen for the telltale buzzing of bees even though they can no longer taste honey.
