Breanni Says:

Every hunter can use a trusty hunting worg. Furthermore, every feral druid loves the company of this feral friend. Orcs do well with worgs… after all, the worg is orc's best friend. Contrary to dwarves, whose best friend is beer. Night elves, with their naturalistic heritage, make excellent worg caretakers. And tauren do as well for similar reasons. Are you getting all this? There will be a test at the end of next week.

For being a quest reward pet (and a fairly simple one to do) this is definatly one for any collector. Just please remind your party that your doing it, before a mage comes out and AoE's them all down :(

The Worg Pup and Smolderweb Hatchling are both done through quests given from the Kibler. They can be done solo quite easily at lvl 60 and probably earlier. Simply use the shortcut in LBRS to skip half of the instance (it's to your right when you face the first bridge. Simply jump off the ledge and onto the narrow platform). Invisibility Pots or similar are recommended.

I still remember how happy I was for getting this pet at level 60 after failing to get the quest done a few times. It was likely the first pet I actually payed attention to and which I used a lot at the time :)

Here's an excellent visual guide to getting this pet and the Smolderweb Hatchling.

This pet is a great one to get. As the only dog in the game many people will want to know where you got it and the vocal sounds are great!IF YOU DO TRY TO GET THIS PET MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SMOLDERWEB HATCHLING WITH IT! it can be very annoying having to return to get the spider.

You may want to farm this pet now as in Cataclysm and the changing of BlackRock Spire, it may be lost. This pet is also soloable for 70+ (or stealthing classes) as "catching" the worg pup will not aggro the mother-Boss wolf.

NE Hunters are also able to solo this at lower levels! I was able to get these two pets on my 63 hunter. By simply following the shortcuts and feigning death whenever I aggro'd, then resetting the FD timer by hitting Shadowmeld. To collect the spider eggs for the Smolderweb hatchling, I had my pet round up the spiders and had to quickly harvest the eggs (which are looted in multiples, luckily!) Just be sure to bring some bandages and health pots, these two companion pets are worth the time!

I just got this cutie last week, it took me awhile to solo in stealth because of those dang spiders hanging about. But if you devote yourself to this little guy, it will be worth the time.

Anyone going for this or the spider pet which comes from the same quest giver, I highly recommend using the guide. It's quite confusing inside that dungeon and the guide helped me and my friend stay on the right path, it was really helpful.

This pet is one of my old-world favorites, because it's the only dog-like pet.

Although we may end up getting dogs in Cataclysm, this is the O.G. canine!

Started collecting pets after you did these quests and discarded the pet boxes for lack of space (you heartless person, You)? Fear not! Just go to any stablemaster and talk to them, and they will give you back your pet reward!

Just a bit of Trivia about this pet. A long, long time ago this pet would bark at stealthed targets and unstealth them. At the time, and probably even today it was the only pet that actually did something other then look cute.

Keep in mind: This was fixed ages ago. The pooch no longer will unstealth targets.
