Gundrak Hatchling

I farmed this pet and it took about 785 total kills. It turns out this is the most perfect Druid farming area.

The mobs are just far enough apart that you have to ride from one to the next in a lot of cases, druid instant cast flight form makes it very quick. In addition, there are a ton of frozen herbs, which can be harvested while in flight form. I ended up with about 18 stacks of herbs.

There are a few places where you can aoe 3 at a time, but for the most part, it is single kills.

one of the best pets to farm especially if you are a leather worker or even if you just have skinning. Arctic fur and anywhere from 1 to 3 borean leather drop off the raptors. one hour of farming can net you over 200 leather.

This raptor was the hardest one for me to get. It took me about 3k kills, before one dropped, but this lil' guy is definitely worth your effort. So, if you're struggling like I was, just hang in there, he does exist.

The mobs respawn quite quickly, which makes farming a breeze. And, if you're a miner, there are a handful of cobalt nodes around the exact circle that you'll be farming, which is nice. You'll pick up plenty of greens on your hunt, as well.

His eyes seem larger and unique to him.

I personally use my DK to farm these lil guys. A nice tip when farming them: there are two spots on opposing sides of the largest temple where you can tag four raptors at once. (Tagging two with Icy Touch, then Dark Command on a third, Death Gripping the fourth) On a land mount, you can alternate between them with very little downtime. As of the time this has been posted, I have gotten three hatchlings using this method.

This guy is my favorite Fathead because of his humongo-eyes and his pretty blue color. Also, for me, he was the least stressful to get because you get into a routine with the grind, and it's not as boring as sitting around waiting for a blind respawn time like the rare-spawn raptors require. Make sure you have a lot of bag space! If you want, you can also count how many raptors you've killed cause most of them drop a claw.

Day three Farming this pet and still no luck. I'm 7/8 of these guys. So far I've made about 900g just in vendor trash and a few greens. Farming can get a bit tedious but when I stop off at the Repair/Vendor and unload its nice to see the $$ coming in for my efforts.

I have been farming this raptor for quite a while for my collection, and my friend has been helping. It's been weeks with no luck between the two of us.

However, today I decided just to have a quick go before eating my dinner. I got the hatchling on my second kill after landing there.

Remember that there are a couple of raptors further to the west (towards Zol'Maz Stronghold). I nearly forgot these, but I just got my raptor from one of them - so remember to check incase one of them has a baby!

As Sateena said, "It tracks several of the rarer pets including whelplings, raptor hatchlings, crocolisks and more".

Farmed it for 3 days straight, lost the count of the kills. Luck I'm 1) druid and 2) skinner. I made some good money while farming, but no pet. Then today I went there before an instance, started killing to pass the time 'til a tank popped up. At like 6th kill it dropped, was like oooooooooooooo!

Now the most elusive one: the Razzashi. Gib more raptors inside there!

This is a very nice pet to farm. As I farmed it with my hunter, i was scared that they wouldn't spawn back in time, since i don't skin. But, thank goodness, they have a fairly decent respawn rate. So don't worry about respawns like I did.

I FINALLY scored this little guy just now! Took about 500 kills total. Up until the last few mobs, I had been riding the outside circle counter-clockwise. Then I read the comments posted here while farming (dual screens), and decided to try out Arcanimus' suggestion about alternating between the two groups of 4, and what do ya know.. within 5 minutes my cutie dropped! Maybe those two groups have higher drop rates? I dunno, but thanks for the idea Arcanimus! Got 8/8 now! Woot!

I was lucky enough to get 1 after 4 kills 250 kills later i gave up looking for 1 for my alt

So far i went from level 77 to 80 just farming these guys. Has yet to drop. :'(

Got this little bugger on my first kill doing the egg quest on an alt. Still havent decided if I'm going to use it or sell it (i already have the 75 pet achievement but im sure there will be more when cataclysm comes out).

As others mentioned, if you're a skinner/LWer, farming this pet can be very lucrative. I would suggest farming the raptors whenever you need leather for something to make it less tedious. In my case, I had decided to hunker down and do some hardcore farming while selling stacks of heavy borean to earn epic flight for an alt. I finally saw it after about five stacks of leather and 80g worth of trash. Definitely one of the more rewarding pet grinds if you have the patience :)

so i spent like two days farming this pet finally gave up and started gearing out my toon then the day after xmas got him on my second kill. i figured i was goin to b there for days took me a couple looks to make sure i wasnt haluiceinating. it was AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I just got this on my 6th kill! Decided to farm it since i got the ZG raptor pet an hour ago on my 12th kill or so. WOOT RAPTORS!

another hour or two of straight killing and i got a 2nd one!
now, days later and several hundred more kills have failed to drop another..

Got it! Omg, it literally took me all day, in between other stuff. I had no competition during the first couple of days of Love Is In The Air and as soon as I got some competition around 11pm... I got it. 336 kills.

The best times to farm these guys, imo, is during the first couple of days of world events... the areas are usually ghost towns.

You guys are going to hate me, I just recently started collecting, and I went to start farming the raptors and got the hatchling on my 4th kill..
