Notes:
This pet is rewarded via the mail after completing a chain of Children's Week quests that begin in Northrend with the quest Little Orphan Kekek of the Wolvar. This quest may be accessed by characters level 70+. Take a look at our detailed walkthrough for help obtaining this pet.

Breanni Says:

Something about keeping this Wolvar Pup just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it's the fact that I've repeatedly bagged a bunch of his little puppy friends for The Kalu'ak. Hundreds of adorable puppylings, looking up at me with their big tear-filled eyes as I snatched them from the only home they ever knew. And one day this curious little pup is going to look up at me and ask, "What happen to Krajek, Taktak, and Vagak? They were my friends." Yup... I'm going to Hell.
Breanni

This wolvar pup is a little smaller than the yeti, making him a sizable addition to your collection. What gets me is that after you return Kekek to the orphanage, you get a letter in the mail from him...and a box which shakes. It might just be me...But I have the feeling he sent himself through the mail to me.

For those of you that like to pair matching pets and mounts together, this little pup is lots of fun to have following you around when you are using your Frenzyheart Brew mug. I just wish he had an animation like how the Oracle hatchling does with its little moth.

Just to give a heads up, this pet and the Oracle Hatchling have been removed as of patch 3.2.2. But that doesn't mean we should worry! They will be back early next summer, this time joining the Old Childrens Week.

Puppy men jerks. Be mean to Oracles, take shinies. Hope Walrus men eat puppy men.

With The Frenzyheart Brew Mug to put on a Wolvar Costume, a Small Feast, and a quick zap of Baby Spice, you can almost get yourself down to twin size of this pet.

I really wish they had kept the comments that the wolvar orphan made on the quests for the pup. He had an adorably brutal little personality, and the option to keep chatting with him would have been fun.

Blizzard should have the Wolvar and Oracle pets fight each other, like the Marine and Zergling do.

It seems you can do either the Oracle or the Wolvar.
I did the Wolvar quest last year and I can not pick up the quest for the Oracle.
Maybe Blizzard will change it but as it looks like now, only 1 is available.
I am revered with Oracles btw, so rep doesnt matter in this case.

Yep, I can concur. I got the Oracle last year, and she no longer has a quest to give me. =( No pup for me this year..

Same here. Can't pick up quest this year, no pup for me.

UPDATE: Blizzard has no intention of fixing it. AKA - working as intended. No second pet for us on this one, at least, not at this time.

I want a Curious Wolvar Pup but I got the Curious Oracle Hatchling last year. The quest for Northrend Children's Week has not reset from last year is this a bug or is this how it is meant work?

*sniffle* I wish I had known last year that you could only choose one of the two, I would have chosen more carefully. So long Puppy, it looks like you're going into the 'cannot obtain' list. :(

I bit the bullet and took my collection over two characters so that I could have both...but I feel cheapened. I hope one day they will allow our mains to have both. :)

*Edit* I just couldn't do it. Back to 127 pets...not claiming my Wolvar on the site. :'(

I have a bone to pick with this pet. When he visits Hemmet Nessingway, he says that he can't read. Then he writes me a letter in the mail about 5 seconds later saying that magically, he learned how to write! He's such a liar... or has an incredibly high IQ.

So they're saying we can only get one of the two? That isn't right! I mean, I worked hard to get Veteran Nanny, they should let us get the other pet in Northrend! Sigh, its one of the few in game pets I don't have! I'm hoping they'll fix this. But in the meantime, I'm just gonna pout. Sits back and ponders how to get him.

I was lookign forward to getting this pet for childrens week 2010 but sadly there was a bug and blizz says

Quoted from blizz
To clarify, this issue won't be able to be resolved for Children's Week this year. If you completed the quest previously you won't be able to complete it again for the other pet this year.

To me it sounded like we cant be bothered.

I was so sad when I saw that I couldn't repeat the Dalaran Children's Week quests. Last year I got the other one. :/ Now I have to wait another year. :'(
