Azure Whelpling

while is was farming this pet in azhara a lot of blue items dropped as well, i earned 400g extra in the end by selling all of the blue and green drops at the AH, the pet dropped on my 6th circulation around the drained lake, i was mostly killing the bigger elites that stood on the platforms scattered around the crater.

The good thing about this dragonling is that it's easily farmable, unlike the other 3. It may take some time for it to drop, but the mobs are lined up in a very nice route, so you can simply circle the lake. Just remember to come with lots of bagspace, since the nearest vendor is a couple of minutes away.
Took me about 4 hours for it to drop.

i inevitably bought this guy with the money i made from trying to farm him! @Denre01 400g? thats it? lol i made a killing farming for this guy and on a return trip to SW to empty my bags i saw this guy on AH for 500g. i had well over that from ~3hrs of farming. i got lucky i think, 3 blue drops in an hour that sold quick for 75g each, among the multitude of greens and white items.

After 3 hrs,it finally droped. Definitly the easiest one to farm. Also got alot of greens, whites and 1 blue.

I actually enjoyed farming for this guy. I really liked the fall scene..leaves dropping. Very nice.

I farmmed it for 3 hours, and it dropped. So i kept going to get one to sell when cata comes out. 38 minutes later i hade #2. Lucky i guess

This pet is the cause of my Petomania. A friend told me that there are several dragons to farm, the easiest (a blue one) in Aszshara. I've killed like 1000s of the elites and was tired. But than it dropped. You all know the feeling, right? This feeling led me to farm every single Pet i can obtain - And so to this site =)

This pet is part of the new special vanity pets tracking achievement which has been data mined from the 3.3 PTR
As Sateena said, "It tracks several of the rarer pets including whelplings, raptor hatchlings, crocolisks and more".

Might be a good idea to farm this guy for when the xpac hits. If azshara becoms a low level zone he may not be availible from those mobs any more. I have one or two in the bank ready to sell to the newbie pet collectors of cataclysm!

The best time to farm them is when you are maybe, lvl 52, have a pet (prefferably hunter or really good warlock, maybe now a deathknight), and lots of potions, and you'll get money and a few lvls in the progress... at least, that's what I did when I was lvl 52. It took a whole week of vacation from school, amd I got my whelp, and suddenly bolted to 70. Don't worry, after this patch, I'm coming back.

To be perfectly honest everyone says this one is the easiest to farm of the whelps, and for me it was one of the harder ones. Maybe it was due to the fact that every time I went to farm it, other people were there. Bad luck I guess. The path around the lake is nice and easy, but I didn't find it any easier than the dark whelp and that took me a lot less time to get.

I started with this as my first Whelpling to farm and WOW, is it easy! I originally attempted at the Dark Whelpling, but I was getting nowhere and I really wanted the Azure one. Even if someone else is farming with you, you still have a great chance to get it. There's enough mobs with a fast enough spawn rate, that if you head either a little more south (or north), you won't bother them and still have a very good chance at it yourself!

To me the Azure is the best of all four whelplings. I like the color, and it's so cute.

Honestly it's not easy to farm here in China, at least in a PVE, so many guys farming there, and I especially hate Hunters as I'm a warrior. So I gave up after had farmed 10 hours. When I got it by AH, the price was about 850G. Divided by 10, you just have to earn 85G/hour, this is more easy. I believe some studios hire people to farm those rare pets in the Azeroth to collect the golds, and sell online.

for me this is the easiest whelp to farm, it took me about 2 hours and it dropped. i think its also the coolest.

I farmed for this pet for 2 hours, and I got 15 greens, including 3 lockboxes and a Star Ruby. I would recommend you empty your bags for this, because if you're not going to give in and buy it after a while, you'll be getting a LOT of loot. I mean tons. The mobs are in the mid 50's by the lake in southern Azshara, so you might want to be a bit high to farm it (they are elites). Good luck everybody! :)

I started farming this guy on my lvl 69 Warrior and it took me about 12 hours so i would say you can grind for that long and get other 500g or grind at lvl 80 or just buy it.

If you're farming for this little guy and need to repair and/or empty your bags, there's a husband and wife (presumably) pair of vendors located at 45, 91. Lower levels will want to watch out for the giant as they approach the path down to the building. There's also some rare patterns here that tend to sell pretty well on the AH.

After about 2 hours, this whelping finally dropped for me. My husband was helping me farm it. We got kind of discouraged when we saw 3 other people in the same area killing the elites too. I had been trying to farm for this thing for a few days. They finally left and we continued to farm.

My husband said "It's almost been 2 hours...maybe we should stop" and sure enough, right after that i see it on my loot.

I had the biggest smile ever!!! The farming is def worth it :)

I got this one from the first blue dragonkin I killed in Azshara. Has been my favorite ever since.

My Husband is known for his Azure whelp! I finally got one on my toon today!!

The 4 whelplings are among my favorite pets of all, I've farmed all 4 of them and I must admit the Blue one along with the Green one are the hardest grind.
Hopefully in the near future the Bronze whelp will be available so all the flights can be acquired at last.

I finally got this guy after about 4 hours. However, I also got the epic Hurricane bow while killing the elites as well as loads of blues and greens so I'm happy!

I just got this one after only about 4 hours of dragon killing =). Ever since I started playing WoW I've been achievement obsessed and once I hit 80 I decided I might as well start farming for some of the harder pets as it would come easier. I'd wanted this one more than any other when I was a lowbie but I refused to buy it. Probably one omy favourite pets now. It's adorable!

I like the Azure Whelp best of all the whelps. Lucky for me it is also the easiest to get!!! What can I say, I just like the light blue!
